Surf education, training and assessment

As a Surf Life Saving Club our primary function is (and must be) to patrol our beach and to do our best to ensure the safety of the public and our members in the aquatic environment.

To facilitate this we need to keep our members trained and up to date in all lifesaving techniques - including first aid, patient assessment and management, communications, use and care of rescue equipment, resuscitation and defibrillation techniques and many other essential skills to effectively manage our beach.

Cape Paterson Surf Life Saving Club runs many training camps throughout the year ranging from community school programs, local community bronze training camps, IRB (rescue boat) seminars, resuscitation, spinal and defibrillation programs just to name a few. These programs can be live in courses or day sessions and are offered to all ages down to our older Nipper groups with basic first aid and resuscitation training
