Life Saving Operations at Cape Paterson First Surf

Cape Paterson SLSC volunteers patrol the Cape Paterson “First Surf Beach” on weekends and public holidays between December and April. Our Lifesaving Services are coordinated by David Potter our Club Captain and Emily Rogers our Vice Club Captain in conjunction with our Beach Operations Committee.
The 2011/2012 patrol seasons starts on Sat 3rd December 2011 and ends on Easter Monday in April 2012.

Patrol times for the season are yet to be finalised for the coming season, stay tuned for details.

Patrols:
Cape Paterson has 4 core patrols that complete one patrol weekend per month. These patrols are also on the beach on public holidays. In addition, we have a Retro patrol consisting of more seasoned (some say old!) lifesavers that complete 2 patrols per year on Australia Day and Labour Day. Patrols are coordinated by the Club Captain (David Potter), with the assistance of the Vice Club Captain (Emily Rogers) and each patrol is headed by 4 Patrol Captains with assistance from 4 Vice Patrol Captains.
Our Patrol Captains and Vice Patrol Captains for the 2010/2011 season are as follows:

  • Patrol 1 - PC Casey Almarker - VPC Melanie Burns
  • Patrol 2 - PC Nik Foon - VPC Darcy Manks
  • Patrol 3 - PC Callum Smith - VPC Joshua Chambers
  • Patrol 4 - PC Josie Chambers - VPC Andrew Napoleone
  • Retro Patrol - PC Mark 'Doogs' Legg - VPC Michael Temby & Charles Dunnachie

These motivated young adults were chosen in recognition of their outstanding leadership and communication skills as well as commitment to the Club.
